When he was most recently on the mound in 2018, Mujica posted a 3.75 ERA in 57 2⁄3 innings at three different levels of the minors. The lion’s share of those innings came at Triple-A Durham, where he had a 2.70 ERA in 36 innings, walking 10 and striking out 34 over seven starts.
In a larger sample, he had a 3.03 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 25 starts at Double-A Montgomery in 2017, walking 44 and striking out 86 in 154 1⁄3 innings.
According to his 2018 scouting report at DRaysBay, Mujica sports a plus changeup and a low-to-mid 90s fastball that can touch 96 on the radar gun with a developing slider and changeup. That scouting report sounds a bit similar to the report on German Márquez when the Rockies acquired him in 2016, though Mujica was 22 in 2018 and Márquez was 20 in 2016.
