Today’s lineups:

MIN: Mitch Garver C, Ehire Adrianza 2B, Nelson Cruz DH, Josh Donaldson 3B, Eddie Rosario LF, Max Kepler RF, Marwin Gonzalez 1B, Jorge Polanco SS, Byron Buxton CF, Jose Berrios P

CHI: Yoan Moncado 3B, Jose Abreu 1B, Eloy Jimenez LF, Luis Robert CF, Yasmani Grandal C, Edwin Encarnacion DH, Nomar Mazara RF, Tim Anderson SS, Danny Mendick 2B, Gio Gonzalez P

I should probably only give you a third of a recap today, because only a third of the game mattered—the first third. And actually, we can skip past the first inning, because noone did anything interesting in the first.

The second, in contrast, was very fun for Twins fans. Josh Donaldson opened the frame with a double, and Eddie Rosario singled to put runners on the corner. Max Kepler should also thank the BABIP gods, as an error by second baseman Danny Mendick advanced both runners and left Kep on first. Jorge Polanco’s double scored Rosie. After Buxton was hit by a pitch, a flyout by Garver scored Kepler, and then Ehire Adrianza cleared the bases with a single. The total for the second: five runs for the good guys.

Jose Berrios gave up his first (and only) runs of the game in the top of the third….
