Angels news: What year did the Angels have the best draft? (Halos Heaven)

What year do you think the Angels had their best draft?

I’ll give you some time to guess. I’ll give you a hint, it should be fairly easy.

MLB.com ranked every teams best draft, and they decided for the Angels it was 2009. Gee, I wonder who they took in that draft. Let’s take a look back. The Angels drafted and signed future big leaguer in Randal Grichuk with the 24th pick in the first round. He turned into a decent player. They used a supplemental first-round pick on Garrett Richards and Tyler Skaggs. Oh, they also drafted Patrick Corbin in the second round.

Okay time to get serious. They drafted Mike Trout with the 25th overall pick in the 2009 MLB Draft. The greatest player in the game, and maybe the greatest that will ever play, was taken with the 25th pick! Yeah, I think his pick alone makes this the best for the Angels without a doubt.
