MLB Bullets is observing Memorial Day (Bleed Cubbie Blue)

While Memorial Day does tend to act as the unofficial opening weekend to summer, it’s also important to remember that it serves to honor the memory of the men and women who died serving in the U.S. Military.

In baseball, the day is usually marked with special uniforms, and a spotlight on service members. Instead, I’ll bring you some baseball news and tell you to enjoy your day off.

(Fun fact: in Canada, where I live, we don’t have Memorial Day — we honor our veterans in November — but last Monday we had Victoria Day, which has been a celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday for about 175 years.)

And tomorrow will be a better day than today, Buster. Make it so.
