OOTP Season Sim Game 53: Jays beat Orioles in 10 innings (Bluebird Banter)

Little bits of sim baseball world news:

  • Ronny Brito of the Lugnuts was named Midwest player of the week. He hit .429 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI in 21 at bats. On the season he’s hitting .263 with 6 home runs, playing shortstop.
  • The game gives a team ‘power’ rankings. The Jays are listed 5th:

This was Sunday’s game. With an off-day today, I’m caught up again.

Our second walk-off win in a row.

The Jays took 3 of 4 against the Orioles, but two games went to extra innings. Just like Saturday’s game, the Orioles made a late game comeback but the Jays ended up winners in extras.

We got a good start from Matt Shoemaker. He went 7 innings, allowed 6 hits, 3 earned, 2 walks with 8 strikeouts, bringing his ERA down to 7.71.

The Orioles scored 2 in the first:

Leadoff hitter Hanser Alberto singled and Anthony Santander followed with a home run.

The Jays got 3 in the bottom of the inning:

Bo Bichette started us off with a single. Lourdes Gurriel followed with a single. After Randal Grichuk struck out, Danny Jansen (batting cleanup?)…
