Astros Juggernaut Rolls Through Baltimore. Takes Orioles 10-2 (The Crawfish Boxes)

The Astros continued their June offensive against any AL team that dares oppose them by crushing the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yard. They amassed 10 runs on 13 hits and eight walks. It was their eighth straight win and 17th out of the last 21. The win gave the Astros sole possession of first place in the AL West.

Meanwhile, Jake Odorizzi shut down the O’s with five scoreless, hitless innings, followed by two more by Cristian Javier. Odorizzi amassed nine k’s and the win in his five-inning stint.

After a slow start with the Astros, Odorizzi appears to be rounding into shape and settling into his assigned role near the top of the Astros rotation.

After a slow start against Orioles starter Keegin Akin, the Astros broke out in the third inning with a five-spot. It started with a Jason Castro double and a Jose Altuve walk. Chas McCormick hit a weak single just past the shortstop in left field scoring Castro. A Michael Brantley walk loaded the bases for Yuli Gurriel, who sacrificed Altuve.

With one out Yordan Alvarez struck the biggest blow of the night, a three-run opposite-field homer to left.
